(We Chinese in America Media Editor Tang Zhao, March 6, 2022) Ukraine's first lady Zelenska originally opposed her husband's candidacy, but now she is in danger of Russia's invasion of the country. She takes her children to stay by her husband's side. In addition to giving Ukrainian President Zelensky a strong backing, she also shows perseverance and courage which has positive impacts on Ukrainian people. 【 Ukraine's first lady, Olena Zelenska. Olena Zelenska, 44, and Volodymyr Zelensky, born in the same year, are both from Kryvyi Rih, a Russian-speaking city in central Ukraine, and studied at Kryvyi Rih State University. They met when they were students at National University.

Zelenska was a public engineering student at the time, majoring in architecture; Zelensky was a law student and a budding comedian. Zelenska later joined Zelensky's comedy group Kvartal 95 as a professional screenwriter. The two married in 2003 after eight years of dating.

In 2015, "95 Block Studio" launched the political satire TV comedy "Servant of the People", starring Zelensky as a history teacher who loves to criticize government corruption and accidentally becomes president. The series was a huge hit in Ukraine and ran for three seasons, prompting Zelensky's 2019 election as president in 2019.

However, Zelensky decided to join the political arena, which pushed Zelenska, who had preferred to stay behind the scenes, into the limelight. She once told a Ukrainian TV station: "Honestly, I was vehemently opposed to the plan at first. It was a very difficult step. It wasn't even a plan; it was a life turn."

However, when Zelenska took over as first lady, she tried her best to play her role. In addition to wearing the works of Ukrainian designers to play "clothing diplomacy" and appearing on the cover of the Ukrainian version of "Vogue", she also announced the first plan promoted after taking office as first lady in an exclusive interview with the insider: greatly improving school nutritious lunches.

Zelenska is also committed to promoting Ukrainian language and culture, improving the mobility environment for people with disabilities, and promoting women's rights as her main work. She not only helped promote the Ukrainian Women's Congress dedicated to gender equality, but also successfully pushed Ukraine to join the G7's international gender equality initiative, the Biarritz Partnership.

Fluent and popular in English, Zelenska is regarded as one of the most powerful women in Ukraine. As Zelensky's closest partner and staunch ally, she now chooses to stay in the capital, Kyiv, with her 17-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son, to accompany the president's husband against Russian aggression.

Like Zelensky, Zelenska actively uses social media to inspire people. The day after the Russian attack, she posted a photo of a Ukrainian flag on Instagram on the 25th, writing: "My dear compatriots! People of Ukraine! ... I am proud to live in the same country as you."

"Some people say that when there are too many people, it becomes a rabble, but we are not. Because many Ukrainians together will not become a rabble, it will be an army!"

Zelenska also said: "Today I will not panic and cry, I will be calm and confident. My children are watching me, I will be by their side, by my husband's side, and with you. Together. I love you! I love Ukraine!"

She shared another photo of the baby born in the Kyiv air defense shelter on the 27th, writing: "Despite the war, we have doctors and caring people by her side on our road. She will be protected and defended."

"Because my dear fellow countrymen, you are incredible. We are an army, and the army is us. And a child born in a bomb shelter will live in a peaceful country that has successfully defended itself."
