(We Chinese in America Media Editor Tang Zhao, March 8, 2022) The Netflix crime documentary "Tinder Hustler" tells how Israeli liar Leviev used the dating app Tinder to deceive women into paying for his luxury life and create a false rich identity. A 67-year-old man in India has also been arrested for multiple fraudulent marriages. (Image Credit: Shutterstock)

The arrest shows that this kind of cheating and cheating of money is happening endlessly all over the world. Bibhu Prakash Swain, 67, is accused of cheating at least 18 women into marrying him and stealing their property, according to AFP.

Indian police told AFP that Swan was arrested earlier this month in Bhubaneswar, India. Swain was supposed to have two more fraudulent weddings in a few weeks.

Police said Swain pretended to be a wealthy 51-year-old doctor on a dating website, targeting women in their 40s with successful careers, including divorcees and widows. Victims include lawyers, paramedics, professors and more across India.

The senior police officer told AFP that Swain's main purpose "was for their money and some sexual pleasure" and that "he was very persuasive".

The police told the "Hindustan Times" that he stored the contact information of "wives" on his mobile phone, named "Teacher's Wife", "Doctor's Wife", "Bangalore Wife", "Delhi Wife", etc., which is convenient for classified management. Swain prey are those unsuspecting women who seek security and love.

A few days after Swain got married, he would borrow money or jewelry from the "wives", saying that he was in urgent need, and then disappeared. Not sure if he has divorced any of his wives.

Swain's first marriage was in 1978, and he moved away after a quarrel with his family. In 2002, he started calling himself a doctor and persuaded another woman to marry him. The New India Express said that Swain was last married in 2020.

The police said that Swain’s self-introduction on LinkedIn was full of typos, but he always claimed to be a doctor or a professor, looking for a wife online.

The fraudulent marriage was exposed because one of the “wives” accidentally discovered that Shi Wan had at least seven "ex-wives" last year, so he informed the women of the truth one by one.

Authorities also accused Swain of defaulting on debts, amounting to about $134,000 (about 3.75 million New Taiwan dollars), and the victims included 13 banks. He was also previously arrested for introducing fake jobs to students.

(We Chinese in America Media Editor Tang Zhao, March 6, 2022) Ukraine's first lady Zelenska originally opposed her husband's candidacy, but now she is in danger of Russia's invasion of the country. She takes her children to stay by her husband's side. In addition to giving Ukrainian President Zelensky a strong backing, she also shows perseverance and courage which has positive impacts on Ukrainian people. 【 Ukraine's first lady, Olena Zelenska. (Photo from Associated Press)】

Olena Zelenska, 44, and Volodymyr Zelensky, born in the same year, are both from Kryvyi Rih, a Russian-speaking city in central Ukraine, and studied at Kryvyi Rih State University. They met when they were students at National University.

Zelenska was a public engineering student at the time, majoring in architecture; Zelensky was a law student and a budding comedian. Zelenska later joined Zelensky's comedy group Kvartal 95 as a professional screenwriter. The two married in 2003 after eight years of dating.

In 2015, "95 Block Studio" launched the political satire TV comedy "Servant of the People", starring Zelensky as a history teacher who loves to criticize government corruption and accidentally becomes president. The series was a huge hit in Ukraine and ran for three seasons, prompting Zelensky's 2019 election as president in 2019.

However, Zelensky decided to join the political arena, which pushed Zelenska, who had preferred to stay behind the scenes, into the limelight. She once told a Ukrainian TV station: "Honestly, I was vehemently opposed to the plan at first. It was a very difficult step. It wasn't even a plan; it was a life turn."

However, when Zelenska took over as first lady, she tried her best to play her role. In addition to wearing the works of Ukrainian designers to play "clothing diplomacy" and appearing on the cover of the Ukrainian version of "Vogue", she also announced the first plan promoted after taking office as first lady in an exclusive interview with the insider: greatly improving school nutritious lunches.

Zelenska is also committed to promoting Ukrainian language and culture, improving the mobility environment for people with disabilities, and promoting women's rights as her main work. She not only helped promote the Ukrainian Women's Congress dedicated to gender equality, but also successfully pushed Ukraine to join the G7's international gender equality initiative, the Biarritz Partnership.

Fluent and popular in English, Zelenska is regarded as one of the most powerful women in Ukraine. As Zelensky's closest partner and staunch ally, she now chooses to stay in the capital, Kyiv, with her 17-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son, to accompany the president's husband against Russian aggression.

Like Zelensky, Zelenska actively uses social media to inspire people. The day after the Russian attack, she posted a photo of a Ukrainian flag on Instagram on the 25th, writing: "My dear compatriots! People of Ukraine! ... I am proud to live in the same country as you."

"Some people say that when there are too many people, it becomes a rabble, but we are not. Because many Ukrainians together will not become a rabble, it will be an army!"

Zelenska also said: "Today I will not panic and cry, I will be calm and confident. My children are watching me, I will be by their side, by my husband's side, and with you. Together. I love you! I love Ukraine!"

She shared another photo of the baby born in the Kyiv air defense shelter on the 27th, writing: "Despite the war, we have doctors and caring people by her side on our road. She will be protected and defended."

"Because my dear fellow countrymen, you are incredible. We are an army, and the army is us. And a child born in a bomb shelter will live in a peaceful country that has successfully defended itself."

(We Chinese in America Media Editor Tang Zhao, March 7, 2022), died in battle on his birthday on the 3rd at the age of 34. (File photo of Ukrainian soldiers from Associated Press)

Ukrainian "legendary hero" Valeriy Chybineiev, one of Ukraine's youngest commanders and winner of Ukraine's highest national medal of honor "Hero of Ukraine", was killed in a battle in the Kyiv suburb of Hostomel on the 3rd, which happened to be his 34th birthday.

The report pointed out that Shibinev was an orphan. He was born in the southern port city of Berdyansk and grew up with his brother Roman.

He is a paratrooper and commander of the sniper company of the 79th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, one of the youngest commanders in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian state news agency described Shibinev as a "legendary" paratrooper who participated in the war in eastern Ukraine in 2014 and successfully defended the Donetsk airport. In August 2016, he was awarded the title of "Hero of Ukraine".

The "Hero of Ukraine" award is the highest honor awarded to citizens by the President of Ukraine in recognition of "individual heroic deeds and great labor achievements". Since the award was established in 1998, a total of 509 people have won the title, including Olympic athletes, scientists, and soldiers.

"The 34-year-old Shibinev is a true hero and the future of our army," Ukrainian veteran Vyacheslav Zaitsev was quoted as saying.

Both the Shibinev brothers are brave and good at fighting, and his younger brother Roman is also a member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but he unfortunately died in the 2019 battle in the Udon Bass region. According to Wikipedia, the age difference between the two is only one year old. Ukrainian media reported that Roman was only 29 years old when he died in the war in 2019.

(We Chinese in America Media Editor Tang Zhao, March 5, 2022) Studies have shown that dogs exhibit similar 'mourning behavior' after a friend dies. The picture is a schematic diagram. (Photo taken from The Paper)

A study by an Italian team showed that domestic dogs experience a variety of "mourning"-like behaviors, most often for up to six months, after another dog in the same household dies.

According to the study, 86% of the subjects said that after the death of one dog in the same family, the other dog will experience many negative changes, such as loss of appetite, becoming less playful, and starting to seek owner’s more attention; in addition, if the deceased dog was a relative of the surviving dog, or in a relationship that grew up together, the level of grief increases, because the surviving dog feels that he has lost an "intimate partner who can provide a sense of security" ".

Dr. Federica Pirrone of the University of Milan, who participated in the study, said that dogs are highly emotional animals and can establish very close bonds with familiar group members, and familiar spaces and smells in the space will bring memories, so the dog will feel very painful when it encounters the eternal separation between its “partner” and “owner”.

The results of the study showed that about 25% of the owners who were part of the study said that such abnormal behavior would last for up to 6 months. The team recommends that if the dog at home dies and the other dog cannot get rid of the pain, additional intimate interactions can be given, and these abnormal behaviors should not be stopped.

In addition, Dr. Pirrone also said that if the owner's sadness is obvious, it can easily infect the dogs who live together, so the owner's reaction is also an important key to affecting the dog's feelings about the death of a partner.

At the end of the study, Dr. Pirone said that it is impossible to fully identify these behaviors as "mourning", but because dogs' emotions are quite complex, when a serious event such as the death of a partner occurs in a simple life, it can cause great sadness. Therefore, these abnormal behaviors may also be caused by emotions, and the possibility of "active mourning" needs to be continuously observed.
